70th Anniversary of the Sinking of AHS Centaur

13th May, 2013, St Johns Cathedral, Brisbane

The 70th anniversary was memorialised by a moving service at St John’s Cathedral, Brisbane. The service was officiated by Archbishop of Brisbane, Phillip Aspinall.

In attendance were descendants of the those lost in the tragedy and also family of those who survived. Also in attendance were descendants of sailors from USS Mugford, the Governor of Queensland, the Premier and the Leader of the Opposition as well as other dignitaries, members of the ADF and members of the public.
